- Telangana government announced this bonus keeping in view the Singareni elections
- The government had already issued an advance bonus of Rs 25,000 on 22nd September
- Another additional bonus of around Rs 70,000 would be deposited in the staff accounts on Friday, one day prior to Dasara
The Telangana government announced a huge bonus to the Singareni Collieries staff and saying each would receive around Rs 70,000 one day prior to the Dasara festival. The government took this decision keeping in view the Singareni elections to which JAC (Joint Action Committee) chairman Prof Kodandaram called the staff to vote against TRS (Telangana Rashtra Samithi).
Singareni Company had already decided to give Rs 57,000 Diwali bonus to each worker and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao ordered for 25 percent profit bonus for the year 2016-17 to be given one day prior to Dasara.
25 percent of Singareni profits would be around Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 to each worker. So with the Rs 57,000 Diwali bonus, each worker would receive Rs 72,000 to Rs 77,000 on Friday in their accounts.
Singareni Company had already given an advance bonus of Rs 25,000 on the 22nd of September. So with the Diwali and profit bonus each employee would receive Rs 1 lakh for the Dasara. The government’s decision would benefit 52 thousand workers of the Singareni Collieries.
