Revanth Reddy followers defect TDP to join TRS

In a major setback to Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Telangana, several party leaders and workers from the Kodangal constituency in Vikarabad district have joined Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) at a function which was held at Telangana Bhavan on Friday.  Those who joined TRS are mainly followers of TDP working president Revanth Reddy.

The shocking political development took place after reports that Revanth Reddy has decided to join Telangana Congress.

TRS Ministers Etela Rajender, Jupally Krishna Rao and Laxma Reddy welcomed the TDP leaders into the party with the pink stole of the party. Speaking on the occasion, ministers said that Telangana has evolved as a model state. In the 49 years of the history of Andhra Pradesh, only three Telangana persons became Chief Ministers – Anjaiah, Chenna Reddy and PV Narasimha Rao.

“People of Andhra Pradesh said that we don’t know how to rule, but now everyone is visiting our state to learn lessons on governance,” the leaders said.

They explained that though Kodangal MLA Revanth Reddy abused the TRS government, it didn’t hesitate to release funds for the development of the constituency. They also promised that Mahbubnagar would become one of the best districts in the state.

The former TDP leaders accused the party of hindering the development of Telangana as they have during Telangana movement. They also accused TDP of stealing water from Sirsailam and Nagarjuna Sagar.

The MLAs remarked that Telangana leaders don’t possess the cleverness of earning money and occupying lands like AP leaders and that they only know how to save their farmers.
