Puri Jagannadh alleges that media is responsible for his character assassination

Well-known Tollywood director Puri Jagannadh was questioned by the SIT for 11 hours in its investigation of the drug racket that shook the foundations of Hyderabad. He was confined in the offices of SIT from 10:30am to 9:30pm and grilled regarding his involvement with drug dealer Calvin.

After his 11-hour session with SIT team, Puri left the premises shunning the media. But at midnight he tweeted a video about his life after the leak of his name in the drug racket. A brief gist of what he presented in his video to the public.

“Today I went to the SIT office and the officers questioned me about the allegations on me for which I gave clear answers. I had no links with Calvin gang and told them I would offer my full cooperation whenever needed. I am basically a responsible person and hadn’t involved myself in anything illegal and wouldn’t think of doing so.

“I have great respect towards the Police department which was why I made many films about police. I am also a great favourite of journalists, the reason for making a film on them ‘Ism’. I have a very good bonding with the media and have many journalist friends with whom I have a one-on-one relation.

“But I am very sorry to say that they all have back stabbed me and destroyed my life. Their half-hour shows and articles disrupted my life. My mother, wife, children and siblings have been crying for the past four days, it’s not only my family but all the families who were alleged by the police.

“SIT would decide if I am wrong or not but the media has already destroyed my life.”
