Osmania University students blame KCR for unemployment

Dozens of Osmania University (OU) students have launched an agitation against the state government demanding Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao should compensate for the students, who couldn’t get a job because of the unconstitutional government orders (GOs) and policies.

The students have alleged that the Telangana CM came out with controversial GOs and irrelevant rules in order to avoid providing jobs to the unemployed.

One of the election promises of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) was to provide jobs to the unemployed students of OU. But even after three years of coming to power, the TRS government had not taken any measures to provide employment but instead has brought in stringent rules on the students.

Recently, the unemployed students under unemployed Joint Action Committee (JAC) Chairman Koturi Manavata Roy organised an agitation at OU Arts and Science College and burnt an effigy of the CM.

They also demanded the removal of IPS officer RS Praveen Kumar for unconstitutional GOs and notifications, Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) Chairman Ganta Chakrapani for incapable of conducting exams and other TSPSC members for not having any understanding on TSPSC.

They demanded the government not to sacrifice the unemployed but to re-issue fresh notifications according to constitutional reservations.

The students also demanded the prior release of DSC syllabus and to conduct the exams only after books with relevant study material have been published. Teacher jobs should be filled not through TSPSC but in the format of the old method of DSC.
