‘KCR is another King Ashoka’, says TRS leader

FollowIn a recent meet, TRS MLC Karne Prabhakar showered praises on KCR comparing him to kings of old. Karne said that KCR was like the great king Ashoka. KCR is working on planting 230 crore plants in a project called ‘Haritha Haram’. Karne said that this reminded him of King Ashoka.
According to history, King Ashoka planted trees on the roadside to give shade to the travellers. The history books are full of the great deeds of Ashoka. There are film songs with lyrics saying Ashoka planted trees. In this context, leaders are commenting and comparing KCR to Ashoka.
KCR participated in the Haritha Haram program at Karimnagar. Party leaders have planned a huge event with one lakh people in attendance for the program. That’s why Karne announced that KCR thought process is similar to that of Ashoka.
The Telangana government till now has spent Rs 1700 crore on the Haritha Haram project. The aim of the government to plant 230 crores of saplings is commendable but how many would survive and become trees is a point of contention. Because in the past leaders planted saplings and completely forgot about them. So how many trees would survive and grow up as trees in the Green Telangana is something to be awaited.
