Hyderabad Police uncover pickle adulteration

FollowAdulteration has become part of our daily life with commodities like milk, oil, rice being contaminated in various parts of the state. In a novel way adulteration has reached the pickle industry.
The adulterated pickle business came into light when the police received an anonymous call from Jeedimetla, the outskirts of Hyderabad city. The police went to the place and found that 25 people were involved in the process of making adulterated pickles.
The police seized jars of rotten pickles, adulterated chilli powder, mustard powder, oil, pulses, coriander seeds and other commodities used in making pickles. The police found every commodity to be adulterated.
The police arrested the 25 workers along with the company owner and seized adulterated pickles worth Rs 5 lakh. They said they would take necessary action against everyone involved.
