Hyderabad drug bust KCR promises to punish the guilty including TRS leaders

Taking a stern stance against the recent drug busts in the city, Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao has ordered the police to arrest anybody involved with the case, including ministers and TRS leaders.

KCR now has ordered a full-fledged investigation into the drug mafia and has asked the police to file a case against every culprit irrespective of their positions, even if it’s a cabinet minister or a political leader or even if they belong to the ruling party.

CM KCR attended a high-level meeting in Pragathi Bhavan on Sunday night, to discuss on the recent drug related arrests in the state. Ministers Nayini Narsimhareddy, Padma Rao, Government Principal Adviser Rajeev Sarma, DGP Anurag Sarma and other higher officials participated in the meeting.

“The drugs mafia was existent all these years but was underground. But the earlier governments cast a lenient eye on it. If they had taken the necessary action against drug mafia, we wouldn’t be in the midst of a calamity now,” KCR said.

“It is important to see that the brand name of Hyderabad is not tarnished since it’s the lifeline to Telangana. Hyderabad should be free of every illegal business. That’s the reason I asked Akhun Sabhawal to cancel his leave in midst of an investigation. Hyderabad should be a drug-free city,” he added.
