Hyderabad drug bust: Arrested Vijayawada woman, Nigerian gang dealt in drugs and women

The Rachakonda police on Monday had arrested a Vijayawada-based woman Palaparthi Sangeetha (35) along with her Nigerian boyfriend John Okorie (26) involved in drug trafficking and flesh trade. The duo was in possession of 3 gm cocaine and 200 gm ganja at the time of their arrest in LB Nagar Bus stop.

As per police report, Sangeeta, with the help of her boyfriend John, had been supplying drugs to children of several prominent personalities in Hyderabad, especially Banjara Hills area. When a few students were recently interrogated by police, they divulged the name of Sangeeta, which led to her arrest. 

According to Times of India, Sangeetha residing in Sun City Apartment in Badlaguda Rajendranagar, came into contact with Nigerian gang through Ojukwu Cosmos, an illegal student residing in India since 2012.

Police raided four other Nigerians based on her confession and arrested Ojukwu Cosmos (30), Okereke Cyril Anezi (31) B Com student of Nizam college and president of Nigerians in Hyderabad, John Paul Oneybuchi (34) and Ogunka Henry Okechukwu (31) seizing 20 gm cocaine, 12 gm brown sugar, 39.8 gm of Amphetamine tablets, 1.67 kg ganja, 3 laptops, Rs 2.04 lakh cash, six passports, two bikes and nine mobile phones, all worth around Rs 10 lakh.

According to One India Telugu, police obtained critical information from her in their three-day investigation. Sangeetha was widowed six months after marriage and she worked at a call centre in Vijayawada. She came in contact with a Sudanese woman through chatting and shifted to Hyderabad. She got introduced to Nigerian Ozoku Cosmos and his friends and since January 2017 she joined the drug business in the twin cities.

Sangeetha is also involved in flesh trade where she would blackmail the girls with their nude photos if they did not listen to her. She along with John Paul Oneybuchi invited engineering students in the outskirts of Hyderabad, supplied drugs and women to them.

Based on the investigation of Sangeetha and the gang, SIT issued notices to six people and questioned them. They are Annarapu Pavan from Kottagudem, Sandeep Reddy and Amarasimha Reddy from Jubilee Hills, Akash and Samuel John from Banjara Hills and Arjun Reddy from Madhapur. They are all businessmen and have been addicted to drugs since three months. The police collected their blood, hair and nail samples and have sent to the forensic department.

The mobilephone data collected from Sangeetha and the Nigerian gang revealed the names and information of 300 businessmen. Police arranged for special teams to investigate these people and it is yet to be identified whether they are drug addicts or peddlers of drugs.
