Heavy rains disrupt life in Hyderabad damaging roads

Continuous rains in Hyderabad for the past three days have made life hell for the Hyderabad people with stagnated water on roads, drains overflowing and entering homes and movement on the roads being limited, bothersome and hazardous.  

Many areas saw overflowing water up to the waist level while River Musi is in spate. Heavy rain up to 6.5 cms has been recorded in LB Nagar, Vanasthalipuram, Uppal, Nagol, Karman Ghat, Champapet, Attapur, Rajendernagar, Secunderabad, Charminar and surrounding areas.

Varasiguda in Secunderabad overflowed with rain water and mixed with leakage of drain water it was hell for the people who had to endure the foul smell. Singareni Colony and Sivaganga theatre area were flooded with water while in Anand Bagh and Shirdinagar Colony, water entered houses.

Nagol area which has no proper drainage facility, saw water stagnating on roads. Vijayawada National Highway saw foot high flood water in Vanasthalipuram area causing traffic jams. Kukatpally and Alwin roads are under repair and many places saw knee-high water on the roads proving problematic to the vehicles and commuters.
