During the 4A launch, there were rumours about the company launching the Redmi 4 that was launched last year in November. However, the wait seems to be over as the device is said to be making its way onto Indian soil this month. The company is expected to launch the device on 16 May. It will be carrying a price tag under Rs 10,000.

In terms of specs, the device sports a 5-inch HD display. It runs Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 out of the box. Under the hood, it gets an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 coupled with 2GB RAM.

It comes with a 13MP rear snapper and a 5MP front camera. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS, Infrared port, FM Radio, microUSB 2.0, and 3.5-mm headphone jack. It packs in 16 GB onboard storage and is fuelled by a 4,100mAh battery. It’s a dual SIM device with a hybrid slot.

Meanwhile, the recently launched Redmi 4A sports a 5-inch HD display with 1280 X 720 pixels of resolution, and this brings the pixel density to roughly 294ppi. It runs the rather older Android Marshmallow along with a layer of the company's proprietary MIUI 8. The Redmi 4A comes with a 13MP rear shooter with led flash and f2.2 aperture. For selfie lovers, it has a 5MP front camera. The Redmi 4A packs in a 3020mAh battery.
