Along with the Mi Note 3, Xiaomi has announced the Mi Mix 2, successor to the Mi Mix concept phone unveiled a year ago. The highlight of the Mi Mix was its screen-to-body ratio which redefined the smartphone user experience as the first Android-based device with a 17:9 aspect ratio high-definition screen and rounded display corners. It is believed to have paved way for Google’s Android CDD (Compatibility Definition Document) that eventually allowing screen aspect ratios beyond 16:9.
The Mi Mix 2 is now 11.9% smaller than Mi Mix, and sports a 5.99-inch screen with a 18:9 full screen display. It has a hidden speaker that only takes up a thin sliver of space between the top edge of the phone and the screen. The front camera remains at the chin and Mi Mix 2 continues using the ultrasonic proximity sensor.

Besides, there's the Mi Mix 2 Special Edition, which has a ceramic unibody. The premium device comes with a glossy jade-like finish. It is launched in China, but expected to hit Indian markets in the near future.
The Mi MIX 2 variants include 6GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB and 6GB + 256GB. The Mi Mix 2 will be available at a starting price of RMB 3299, which translates to Rs 32,350 up to Rs 39,100. The Mi MIX 2 Special Edition with a ceramic unibody with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at RMB 4699 that is roughly Rs 45,900.
