Xiaomi is all set to launch its new Mi Mix 2 in the Indian market on 10 October. Manu Jain, India MD, Xiaomi had tweeted about the device and Flipkart's CEO, Kalyan Krishnamurthy has also introduced it as 'putting an end to the debate over tech meets art'. And, obviously we expect it to be available via Flipkart.
While its predecessor the mi Mix didn't make it to India, the company had confirmed earlier this year that the Mi MIX 2 will be making it o the Indian market nearing Diwali. This bezel-less device will be competing with the likes of Galaxy S8, Not 8, Google Pixel 2 XL and the iPhone X.
The Mi Mix 2 is now 11.9% smaller than Mi Mix, and sports a 5.99-inch screen with an 18:9 full screen display. It has a hidden speaker that only takes up a thin sliver of space between the top edge of the phone and the screen. The front camera remains at the chin and Mi Mix 2 continues using the ultrasonic proximity sensor.
The Mi Mix 2 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with up to 8GB RAM. It gets the latest Sony IMX386 sensor in its 12-megapixel camera, and comes with 4-axis OIS. It has a ceramic back, which features a four-sided curved design that transitions smoothly into the aluminium frame. Besides, there's the Mi Mix 2 Special Edition, which has a ceramic unibody. The premium device comes with a glossy jade-like finish.
The device was launched in China earlier this year. The Mi MIX 2 variants included 6GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB and 6GB + 256GB. The Mi Mix 2 was available at a starting price of RMB 3299, which translates to Rs 32,350 up to Rs 39,100. The Mi MIX 2 Special Edition with a ceramic unibody with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage carries a price tag of RMB 4699 that is roughly Rs 45,900.
