WhatsApp may soon let Android users recall, edit sent messages

  • WhatsApp was earlier rumoured to add recalling and editing option.
  • A new leak suggests the feature may be inching closer to reality.
WhatsApp to let you recall edit messages

Facebook-owned WhatsApp is introducing a change we all are eager to see. It is planning to put away the woes that come when we accidentally send a message, only to regret it later. Yes, it is bringing in an undo option.

Yet again, WABetaInfo that had revealed recall and revoke features being tested for iOS has now tweeted an image showing the feature being tested for Android. So, the version 2.17.25 will come with the edit feature and 2.17.26 with the new revoke feature.

This means, the next time you regret sending a message, WhatsApp will let you edit or simply recall it. It should be noted that currently users cannot edit or recall a message. Even if they delete it from their chat window, others will be able to see it.

According to the previous report, the new update for iOS will be made available with version 2.17.1.869. It said that messages already read by reader can also be deleted. A recent update for iOS added some cool features like increase media limit and the ability to queue messages when offline. Check them out here

However, there is no time frame revealed for the launch of the update on Android or iOS. So, all we can do is wait for an official announcement from the company.
