Whatsapp to add GIF feature for latest iOS version
Â
Whatsapp, the popular messaging service, may soon come up with a Graphic Interchange Format (GIF) addition to its mobile application.
Â
The new feature was revealed as part of Whatsapp's new beta update on Twitter, with a follower tweeting on June 7: "Changelog of #WhatsApp #beta for #iOS 2.16.7.1 is available now! http://pastebin.com/mh6Fbe7LÂ #GIF #GifSupport #HOTNEWS #whatsappbeta."
Â
Â
According to social media sources, the GIF autoplay feature will run on Whatsapp’s latest iOS beta version 2.16.7.1 and will allow users to embed GIFs in their chats.
Â
Whatsapp has also been working to launch a video calling feature on their mobile application. Both the new updates are expected to be launched soon, as Whatsapp prepares to roll out its new update.
Â
Â
However, the Facebook-owned messaging client has a big challenge to match up to the GIF support offered by its parent company. Its chief competitor Viber has also recently launched GIF support for their messaging service.Â
