WhatsApp allows users to send messages without Internet connection

  • WhatsApp's new update for iOS adds offline message queueing.
  • It also ups bulk media message limit and storage management.
WhatsApp lets you send messages offline

WhatsApp 2.17.1 update that comes to iOS will let you send messages even without Internet connection. Well, sort of.

So, without Internet connection, you will be able to hit the 'Send' button that is otherwise graded. The messages will queue up. They will be sent once the connection is re-established. So, in the offline mode, you can basically queue multiple messages in  order to not lose the track of conversation.

The feature was already available for Android, and now finally makes it to iOS users. The feature undoubtedly comes in handy during journeys and considering how scanty and uncertain the Internet connection can be.

That's not the only change. WhastApp has also updated the storage usage screen by letting users delete select file types. For instance, you can delete texts, videos, documents and so on. The storage options can be accessed via Settings under 'Data and storage usage'. You can see how much space each of the chats takes.

Finally, if you've been always complaining about the limit on media content that can be shared, the new update also increases the limit of video and text messages that can be shared to up to 30.
