WhatsApp has rolled out its new feature that will allow users to share their location in real-time. It is an end-to-end encrypted feature that lets you control who you share your location with and for how long. You can also choose to stop sharing the location at any time or let the Live Location timer simply expire.
To start sharing the live location, users need to open a chat with the person or group you want to share with. Under "Location" in the attach button, there's a new option to "Share Live Location."
Users can choose for how long they want to share and tap send. Then each person in the chat will be able to see the real-time location on a map. And if more than one person shares their Live Location in the group, all locations will be visible on the same map.
It is available on both Android and iOS and will be rolling out in the app in the coming weeks.
