Samsung has launched the S8 and S8 Plus in the Indian market. It is the highly anticipated and the first device from the company post the Note 7 fiasco. Let's take a quick first look.

The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus are almost identical. Some factors that distinguish the two are screen size and battery, among others. The S8 gets a 5.8-inch display and the larger variant comes with a 6.2-inch display. It’s a mix of glass and metal. Interestingly, the glass wraps the display curling towards the right and left edges, giving it a bezel-less design, something Samsung calls an Infinite Display. It gets Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on both the front and back for durability and oozes a premium finish. Samsung has bid goodbye to the home button, which also means the fingerprint scanner is moved to the back side.

The S8 sports a 5.8-inch and the S8+ comes with a larger 6.2-inch display. Both get a Quad HD+ Super AMOLED Infinite Display. The S8 and S8 Plus feature 2960 x 1440 pixels of resolution with 529 pixel density and 570 pixel density, respectively.

Processor and RAM
The Indian variant will be powered by the Samsung Exynos 8895 SoC, as expected. Other regions will get the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. However, both are believed to be almost at par.

The Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus come with 12MP Dual Pixel rear snappers. You will also find support for optical image stabilisation and f/1.7 aperture. On the front, you will find an 8MP snapper and f/1.7 aperture.

The connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB Type-C, NFC and more. The device runs Android 7.0 Nougat. So, you can expect all the latest goodies from the Android OS.
