Netflix, the popular digital streaming service, will be allowing its users to download a couple of their popular shows as well as films, and watch them offline later.

On a blog post, Netflix mentioned that "While many members enjoy watching Netflix at home, we've often heard they also want to continue their Stranger Things binge while on airplanes and other places where the Internet is expensive or limited".

Netflix also confirmed that subscribers can now click on the download button available on a details page for a TV series and film, and watch the same later even without the internet connection.

Some of the shows to be made available for download are House of Cards, Stranger Things, Narcos, The Crown, Sky Ladder, Orange is the New Black and Black Mirror.

"The new feature is included in all plans and is available for phones and tablets on Android and iOS," Netflix Director of Product Innovation, Eddy Wu, stated on the blog.

Globally, Netflix has 86 million subscribers and was launched in India in January 2016.
