Meizu M5 smartphone with 4G VoLTE launched at Rs 10499

After making its debut in China last year in October, the Meizu M5 has entered the over-crowded Rs 10,000 price bracket of the Indian smartphone market. With a price tag that reads Rs 10,499, the device is up for grabs on TataCliq.
Meizu's this all-new device is in line with the latest fad of 4G VoLTE. Besides, the company has also added a fingerprint sensor that rests under the home button. Meizu has further promised that the it would take mere 0.2 seconds to unlock the device using this sensor.
In terms of specifications, it sports a 5.2-inch 720 x 1280 HD display with 2.5D curved glass display. It has a polycarbonate body, and under the hood, the M5 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM.
The device runs Yun OS 5.1 with Flyme OS 5.5 skin. It's is a dual SIM hybrid device, which means you can either use two SIM cards or one SIM and microSD card. The device measures 147.28x72.8x8mm and weighs 138 grams.
The camera won't disappoint with 13MP rear snapper with dual LED flash and f/2.2 apertur and a 5MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture. For connectivity, it comes with 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS/ A-GPS. Finally, it is fuelled by a 3070mAh battery that promises 37 hours of talk time.
It was just recently that we saw another device in almost similar price bracket - Micromax Canvas 2 2017. The company has teamed up with Airtel to offer one year of free 4G data, capped at 1GB/day. Along with free data, the device offers unlimited free calling to any network. Priced at Rs 11,999, the Canvas 2 (2017) will be made available at retail outlets across the country starting 17 May.
