Jio vs Airtel: A look at the best data plans

Airtel is offering a Rs 399 plan that brings 680 minutes of local and STD calls, unlimited roaming incoming calls and 1GB of data along with 1GB bonus.

At Rs 509, Jio users get unlimited calls and SMS, 180GB data with 2GB/day usage for the first cycle of three months.

Airtel is offering a Rs 399 plan that brings 680 minutes of local and STD calls, unlimited roaming incoming calls and 1GB of data, along with bonus data of 1GB valid up to three months.

At Rs 499, it offers unlimited local and STD calls, 5GB 3G/4G data along with bonus data of 10GB for three months. At Rs 799, users get unlimited local and STD calls, roaming incoming and outgoing calls, and 10GB of 3G/4G data. This is accompanied by 10GB of bonus data for the next three months.

On the other hand, Jio's postpaid plans starting at Rs 309 are only for registered Prime users. At Rs 309, you get unlimited calls, 90GB 4G data with 1GB/day, unlimited SMS for three months, as the first recharge benefit that is valid for three months. After this, users get 30GB data/month with 1GB/day usage and the rest of the benefits remain the same. 

At Rs 509, Jio users get unlimited calls and SMS, 180GB data with 2GB/day usage for the first cycle benefit. Then on, users get 60GB of 4G data per month with 2G/day usage cap.

At Rs 999, users get unlimited calls and SMS, app subscription, and 180GB of 4G data as the first cycle benefit that comes without any FUP. Post three months, users will get 60GB of 4G data per month along with the other benefits.

Jio prepaid offers start at a price as low as Rs 19. Whether you are a Prime user or not, you will get unlimited local and STD calls. However, it offers 200 MB data for prime users and 100MB data  for non-Prime use,r, along with unlimited SMS and Jio apps subscription for both. The validity is one day. 

At Rs 49, Jio users will get unlimited calls, SMS and 600MB data, 300MB data (non-Prime users) with a validity of up to three days. At Rs 96, Jio Prime users users get 7GB of data while non-Prime users get 600MB data. Besides, it packs in unlimited calls, SMS and Jio app subscription for both. 

On the other hand, at Rs 9, Airtel offers 50MB data valid for a day and at Rs 46, users can get 175MB data valid for a week. At Rs 147, it offers 1GB 4G data.
