Bharti Airtel, Jio's arch-rival, is preparing to launch its own 4G smartphone just ahead of the festival season of Diwali. According to a report in The Economic Times, the telco is in talks with phone makers Lava and Karbonn.
Reliance Jio has announced India's cheapest feature phone at Rs 0, which will come with support for 4G VoLTE. jio has already begun the trial run and it will be open for pre-booking from August 24. While Jio plans lower price to target users, Airtel is betting on smartphones that offer bigger display and camera, for slightly higher price.
