India among countries with lowest 4G speed in the world: Report

Indias 4G speed lower than Pakistan Report

Open Signal has released its 'State of LTE' report (via XDA) in India revealing that 4G availability in the third quarter of 2016 jumped from 71.6 percent to 81.6 percent in the first quarter of 2017.

We stand 15th when it comes to 4G availability across the globe with an average download speed of 5.1Mbps, according to the report. However, this is way lower than the average 4G speed of 17.4Mbps. In fact, it is just slightly higher than the average global 3G speed.

Though Reliance Jio's entry into the 4G space has increased the reach of the services, there hasn't been a significant increase in download speed. India stands 74th in the list of 75 countries, followed by Costa Rica. Pakistan and Sri Lanka also take a higher spot compared to India in terms of 4G speed.

The report says that India is among countries offering lowest 4G speed in the world. On the other hand, Singapore tops the chart when it comes to speed while South Korea in terms of 4G availability.
