Here's how Facebook will help its users with COVID-19 information; read details
Facebook has announced plans to help its Indian users with authoritative information about the COVID-19 vaccine and its symptoms.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has also made an announcement to donate $10 million to India for the emergency cause. In a post, the company said, "Our thoughts are with everyone in India. To help, we're giving $10 million to emergency response efforts and offering new ways for people to find COVID vaccine appointments."
The company is rolling out a Vaccine Finder Tool with the Centre in 17 different languages. This tool will help users to find nearby vaccine spots. Facebook said, "In this tool, vaccine centres and their hours of operations have been provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The tool will also show walk-in options and a link to register with the CoWin website and schedule your vaccination appointment."
Recently, the tech giant made another post sharing the plan on Twitter, "Today we're sharing our plan to help get people vaccinated against COVID-19. We're doing this in a few different ways. On Facebook, you'll see a new tool connecting you to info about where and when to get a COVID-19 vaccine."
Users can access this tool from the COVID-19 information centre on the app. On Instagram, Facebook is trying to give the guidelines on explore page. They will also provide health resources from UNICEF India about how to manage mild Covid symptoms at home.
Facebook is working with UNICEF to give the right information to the users about when to go to hospitals for the emergency.
