‘Hello, Mumbai’: Tim Cook ‘can’t wait’ to welcome customers to Apple BKC today

After years of anticipation, Apple's first shop in India will open to the public on April 18, 11 a.m. The first Apple shop in Mumbai will open on Jio World Drive in the Bandra Kurla Complex. The store is called Apple BKC, and Apple CEO Tim Cook is anticipated to attend the store's launch and engage with customers.

April 18 marks the launch of Apple's first official India shop in Mumbai, and two days later, in Delhi. The anticipation among enthusiasts is palpable. The launch coincides with Apple's more than 25-year anniversary in India.

"Hello, Mumbai! We can't wait to welcome our customers to the new Apple BKC today," posted CEO Tim Cook posted a picture of himself visibly overjoyed Apple employees.

The two-story Mumbai shop is inspired by the classic kaali-peeli cabs that are a common sight on city streets. Store openings for the popular brand throughout the world have seen admirers queue to be the first client, and it remains to be seen how Mumbai residents embrace the store on a working day.

Meanwhile, actress Madhuri Dixit gave the American businessman the ultimate Mumbai welcome. The actress demonstrated her real Mumbaikar status by serving the businessman excellent vada pav. 

Madhuri posted a photo to Twitter. Madhuri and Tim were photographed smiling and eating vada pav. Dixit captioned the shot, "Can't think of a better welcome to Mumbai than Vada Pav!" 

 

The businessman retweeted Dixit's image along with his statement, "Thanks @madhuridixit for introducing me to my very first Vada Pav — it was delicious!" The businessman liked Vada pav as much as millions of Mumbai residents did.

Tim Cook will meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Deputy IT Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar during his visit, according to press sources. He was also seen going to Mukesh Ambani's home, Antilla, on Monday afternoon. 

Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, has been visiting notable leaders from all around India while he is there on business.
