Update: Microsoft has confirmed that Paint will be available as a free standalone app (Paint 3D app) on Windows store those who still want to use it.

All good things come to an end, and so does Microsoft Paint. For those who first dabbled with computers in 90s, it leaves us with a lot of childhood memories of Paint.

After 32 years, Microsoft has decided to pull the plug on Paint. So, news has it that the next Windows 10 update known as ‘Autumn’ will bring a lot of new features, but will also bid goodbye to Microsoft Paint.

If you remember, the first version of paint was released in Windows 1.0 in 1985. It was in Windows 98 that paint could save images in JPEG.

Here are three cool tricks with MS Paint

Gridlines

Gridlines that can be selected under 'View' will let you add precision to your work. This feature is handy when you want to edit, and zooming in hasn't been very helpful.

Quick Undo

Quick Undo lets you quick delete the part that you accidentally added. And, you don't have to go up to edit and then click on undo. You can simply click the opposite mouse button while the one you are using is still pressed.

Brush size

While Paint shows only three brush sizes, you can easily add more. How to resize the brush? It's simple when using it, simply press Ctrl and keep hitting on '+' and '-' to increase or decrease the size further.
