The Gionee A1 sports a 5.5-inch display with 1900 x 1080 pixels of resolution. The highlight of the device is the 16MP front-facing camera with f2.0 aperture, and a 13MP rear snapper.

Arvind R Vohra, Country CEO & MD, Gionee India said, “Today’s generation views the world from their front camera. They live for creating and celebrating experiences out of moments. At Gionee, we want to celebrate this inclusiveness by dissolving boundaries and creating a world of equals where every moment is worth capturing. Through #Selfiestan, we at Gionee plan to give India a sense of ownership and belonging by creating a world of Hindustan ki selfies. With the new A1, we take our first step towards building #Selfiestan.”

The device supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. Under the hood, it is powered by 2GHz octa-core P 10 Helios processor coupled with 4GB RAM. It gets 64GB onboard storage, which can be expanded further up to 256GB.

The Gionee A1 is based on the up-to-date Android 7.0 along with improved Amigo OS. The A1 claims to offer the fastest fingerprint sensor, unlocking the phone in just 0.2 seconds, even with moist fingers. Finally, a massive 4010-mAh battery fuels the device.

Dipped in grey, black and gold colour options, it will be available for pre-order starting 31 March.
