This new Gionee smartphone's battery will last a few days

FollowGionee has launched the M2017, a high-end smartphone in China at CNY 6,999, which translates to roughly Rs 68,000. The highlight of the smartphone is the whopping 7000mAh battery.

The company also plans a more expensive, premium model with custom alligator leather back panel that would sell for over Rs 1.5 lakh. There is no word on these devices coming to India yet, but India is an important market for Gionee and we wouldn't be surprised to see at least the cheaper of the two arrive here.

The 7000mAh battery promises to offer up to 25.89 hours of playback time and 915.24 hours of standby time. It also supports Quick Charge. The rest of the specs sheet is also interesting with 5.7-inch QHD AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 653, 6GB RAM and runs Android Marshmallow with a layer of its own Amigo 3.5 UI.

On the camera front, the Gionee M2017 comes with a dual camera (12MP + 13MP) setup at the rear and 8MP front camera. The rear camera supports 2X optical zoom and 8X digital zoom. It gets massive storage capacity with 128GB built-in.

It sports a USB Type-C port and will be made available in black and gold variants.
