Flipkart launches Billion Capture+ dual camera smartphone

Online retailer Flipkart has launched its own smartphone in India under its Billion brand that was unveiled in July this year. Billion Capture+ is priced at Rs 10,999 and goes on sale on November 15, a day before OnePlus takes the wraps off its next flagship the OnePlus 5T.

Flipkart has already made a product page on its website (https://www.flipkart.com/billion-capture-teaser-brand-store) which also reveals several details about the phone.

Billion Capture+ will come in a metal unibody design with chamfered edges and a sleek profile. Flipkart says the phone has been developed after a feedback taken from user millions of Flipkart customer reviews on other phones

The phone sports dual cameras at the back. A detailed look tells you it’s a monochrome + RGB sensor combo and not like the one we saw on the Xioami Mi A1 or the OnePlus 5 (that is wide + telephoto lens combo). There is also a dual tone LED flash accompanying the camera. Camera features touted by Billion Capture+ include Super night mode, Bokeh effect and Depth-of-field.

The phone sports a 5.5 inch fullHD display – an IPS panel with dragontail glass on top. There is fast charging, fingerprint scanner and Android Nougat 7.1.2 is supported out of the box. There will also be a USB Type C port, 3.5mm jack and the phone will be available in two colour options – black and Gold.

Under the hood the phone runs a Snapdragon 625 chip from Qualcomm – a tried and tested SoC also used by Mi A1, the Moto G5s Plus and countless other phones. Along with that, the phone has 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. There is also a 64GB variant with 4GB RAM priced at Rs 12,999.

Flipkart is also touting its network of 130 service centres spread across 125 cities to reassure buyers of the after sales service. And like Google does for its Pixel phone, Flipkart is also offering unlimited cloud storage for photos as well. Though the package looks swell, a hands-on will clear more air. Stay tuned.
