CES 2017

Companies continue to put on display some really interesting products at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Here's your daily dose of CES with some of the coolest devices on display.

2-in-1 tablet with wireless charging

The Dell Latitude 7285 turned out to become a head turner at the event. It's a 2-in-1 tablet with detachable keyboard. But, the main highlight is its wireless charging ability. On the specs front, it sports a 12-inch 2880x1920 IGZO display, and packs in 7th generation Intel Kaby Lake chips with 8GB/16GB of RAM. It's Windows hello-enabled and you can also expect 512GB storage with a microSD card slot support.

Dell Canvas

Microsoft had grabbed eyeballs with the Surface Studio, and all-in-one PC that can be used as a sloped surface. Now, Dell's new 27-inch Canvas takes cue from the Surface Studio. Canvas' display resolution is 2560 x 1440, compared to the 4500 x 3000 resolution found on the Surface Studio. The Canvas will let you interact with the display via touch. But, you can also opt for the digital pen called Totem, which is similar to Microsoft's Dial.

Misfit Vapour smartwatch

Smartwatch shipments may be failing, but that hasn't stopped companies from losing hope on the category. One such is the Vapour by Misfit that sports a 1.4-inch AMOLED touchscreen display. Vapour looks stunning and packs in health tracking features like heart-rate tracking. It is powered by a Snapdragon 2100 processor, 4GB storage and is water resistant too. It is priced at $199, roughly Rs 13000.

Nvidia's partnership with ZF and an expanded deal with Audi will see the companies working on a self-driving car with AI tech. They plan to bring cars running this technology on roads by 2020.

Xiaomi Mi 4K TV, Mi Mix in white

Xiaomi's debut at CES 2017 led to two big announcements. We saw the highly anticipated Mi Mix in white colour option, and the company took the wraps off the new smart 4K TV. The highlight stayed the new 4K TV, available in 49, 55 and 65 inches. The largest, 65-inch model, comes with a modular design, standalone 4K display and new Mi TV Bar. It also offers Dolby Atmos support. The 65-inch variant is estimated to be priced under US$2000 (approx Rs 1.35 lakh).
