In West Bengal, an 18-year-old school student hanged himself as ex-girlfriend watched him live on a video calling app, according to a report in Hindustan Times.
The boy named Sujoy Mondal studied in Class 11 and lived in Madhyaharia village. The report adds that the police have arrested his ex-girlfriend. She also studies in Class 11 and is 18 years old.
The police reportedly said that it is the first such case in Bengal and the girl has been produced in Barasat court and sent to judicial custody for two weeks.
The report adds that the boy was depressed after the couple broke up a month ago. What shattered him further is when she posted a picture on social media with someone else. He spoke to the girl over the phone and she asked him to stay away that broke him down and he committed suicide.
