This statement not apt for anyone, but Nayanthara. At present, Nayanthara is getting a salary of Rs.3 Cr. This is the maximum amount one can get as a heroine in Tamil cinema. She is the first ever actress to fix such pay scale. But, it took a lot of hard work and sacrifices to reach to the top.
She made her acting debut in the film ‘Ayya’. Before which she was rejected by directors such as Parthiban for having squint eye.
In Ayya, she stubbornly refused to wear a glamorous dress for a song, even after the director’s insistence. But for the film Ghajini, she did not refuse to go glamour because she knew that Asin was the number 1 heroine during that time. Having enquired about Asin’s role in the movie, she agreed to compete with her style. That is when her career graph took off.
A hot kissing scene in the film ‘Vallavan’ with Simbu sparked controversy for a long time. It was then that she fell in love with Simbu. It was said that the break-up controversies and her struggles to overcome the separation, were the reasons for her initial fame.
