AIADMK symbol bribery case: 2 Hawala operators who transferred money to TTV, arrested

A day after Delhi police landed in Chennai along with Dinakaran to question him and his wife, the investigators have reportedly arrested a hawala operator and his accomplice.

The hawala operators assisted TTV Dinakaran in arranging the money, which was to be used by middleman Sukesh Chandrasekar to bribe Election Commission officials to buy AIADMK's two leaves symbol. One accused was arrested from Delhi, while another was picked up from the IGI airport while he was returning from Thailand.

Earlier on Thursday evening, the Delhi police flew in from Delhi along TTV to Chennai, where TTV was questioned along with his wife Anuradha on their source of income. The scope of the investigation will extend to Bengaluru and Kochi as well, sources said. 

A team of Delhi police also raided a luxury hotel located in Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR) and seized CCTV footages. It is suspected that several crucial meetings between TTV and the middleman Sukesh took place at this resort property.

TTV was arrested on Tuesday night and the court order had remanded him to five-day police custody.  According to India Today, the investigation plans to confront the duo along with the arrested middleman, Sukesh Chandrasekar.
