Milkha Singh hails Farhan Akhtar for his tough physique in 'Toofan'
Toofan is an upcoming Bollywood sports movie based on boxing, which stars Farhan Akhtar. The film would be released on May 21 on Amazon Prime Video. The movie's teaser has drawn critical acclaim from legends and fans, along with various sporting personalities.
FollowFarhan Akhtar's upcoming Bollywood movie 'Toofan' has already caused a stir in the Indian movie industry. The sports movie, based on boxing, whose teaser was released last week, has been highly acclaimed by Bollywood legends and other sports personalities.
Akhtar, who had also portrayed the lead role of renowned Indian athlete Milkha Singh in 'Bhaag Mikha Bhaag' in 2013, has risen into the limelight since then. As for 'Toofan', Milkha has repeatedly hailed Akhtar for satisfactory performance, besides showering immense praise on his physique.
"I loved Farhan's look in the 'Toofaan' teaser. He has made a wonderful physique for the role of a boxer. My best wishes are with Farhan and Rakeysh. I will surely watch 'Toofaan'. I hope they make many more sports films in future," Milkha told PTI.

Milkha also added that Akhtar is a lookalike of him, as he perfectly portrayed his role in BMB. "When 'Bhaag Mikha Bhaag' was released, no matter where I went -- Australia, England or Canada, people around the world used to say Farhan is Milkha Singh's ditto copy. I even went to see Farhan train during the film's making and saw him run 100 metres in 11 seconds! He was not a professional athlete, but he trained hard to become one," he recalled.
Earlier, famous Indian boxer Vijender Singh had also hailed Akhtar for 'Toofan', besides thanking him for putting the sport of boxing in the spotlight. "The teaser looks awesome! Thanks for putting boxing on the map. All the best @FarOutAkhtar @ROMPPictures @FarOutAkhtar @ritesh_sid @excelmovies @RakeyshOmMehra," he had tweeted.
'Toofan' would be Akhtar's second significant sports movie following his commendable success with 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag', co-produced by Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra. The film is based on a national-level boxer and his rise to stardom. Akhtar would play the lead role, alongside Mrunal Thakur and Paresh Rawal in other prominent roles. The film would be released on May 21 on Amazon Prime Video.
