Here is the closure schedule:
February 8-11 – 1.30 pm to 4:30 pm.
February 12-18 – 10 am to 1:30 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm.
February 19 – April 30 – 10:30 am to 5 pm.
It is going to be very difficult for thousands of passengers in the next couple of months who will be flying in and out of Bengaluru. There will be delays and one can assume that a number of flights might get cancelled as well.
“The work will be carried out in a phased manner. Certain phases will involved closure of the runway. At other times, airport operations will not be affected. These works have been necessitated by the need to support the growth in air traffic at Bengaluru airport,” a statement issued by the Bengaluru International Airport read.
However, changes to flight schedules will; be put on www.bengaluraiport.com , on their Twitter handle @BLRAirport and the BLR Airport application.
The passengers will not be required to reach the airport hours before the departure. They can check their flight schedules on the above mentioned places and reach the airport accordingly. It will be a challenge for the airport authorities to handle the rush during this period.
