Sea bed turns wedding venue couple tie knot underwater

Everyone is looking for ways to throw up a unique wedding, but this couple chose the craziest, remarkable and unexpected place to say 'I do.' Nikhil Pawar, a professional dive instructor, had no second thought about her wedding venue and her fiancee Eunika Pogran too loved the idea to tie the knot under the sea.

The duo wanted to do something special on the d-day and chose the bed of Arabian Sea to mark their special day. The Indian groom and Slovakian bride exchanged wedding vows under the sea just off the coast near Grove Beach in Kovalam.

The wedding took place at a small podium made on the sea bed. Questions that were to be asked to the couple were printed and was shown to them to which they replied 'I do' in sign language.

"It was a dream come true. I enjoyed the event but was a bit nervous," said Pogran.

"I always wanted to something special for my lady love and thought this would be a unique and cool experience. I am comfortable underwater and was a dive instructor at Andaman and Nicobar Islands for six years. Eunika is a keen swimmer and has done diving several times," Powar, a dive instructor.

He met Pogran, a political science graduate, while she was holidaying in Kovalam last year. She is planning to venture into diving as a profession.

The wedding was facilitated by Bond Safari, the company where Powar is working as a dive instructor.

The couple would register their marriage in Maharashtra.

The proposal too took place underwater off Grove Beach, the popular dive site in the locality.
