Bengaluru police poised to tackle any Republic Day contingencies

The district governance, BBMP and the police have taken precautionary measures for 68th republic day celebration in Bengaluru.

 

The Republic day celebration is held on January 26, in Manik Shah Parade Grounds at 8.30 a.m. Governor Vaju Bhai Vala will hoist the flag and the helicopters from the Air Force are going to shower the flowers after flag hoisting.

 

Around 68 battalions comprising police, scouts, guides, NCC, Sevadal etc. are going to parade. More than 2500 students are going to participate in the parade as well.

 

Around 75 Police cops are already allotted in Manik Shah Parade ground since 15 days for security reasons.

 

12 thousand seating arrangements have been made for VVIPs and VIPs. Special seating arrangements have been made for freedom fighters, army officers and the press reporters. Police have prohibited drone and aerial cameras in the premises. 

 

Police sources say that some miscreants may try to disturb the peace and harmony on that day. Recently a fake bomb was kept at Namma Metro railway station near Lal bagh west gate.

Items prohibited in the Manik Shah Parade ground: Match box, cigarette, knife and weapons, liquor, water bottles and eatables.
