1985-batch IPS officer of Maharashtra cadre Subodh Kumar Jaiswal on Wednesday took charge as the new director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) - India's premier investigative agency. Subodh Kumar Jaiswal was earlier serving as the Director General of the CISF.

Jaiswal, who is currently the Director-General of CISF, will have a tenure of two years.

 The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the West Bengal Police has issued a notice to four constables and one inspector of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and a deputy commandant of the force in connection with the April 10 firing incident in Sitalkuchi in Cooch Behar district.
 

 West Bengal Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Friday took over the case and will be conducting the probe in the incident which happened during the fourth phase of polling at Sitalkuchi.
 

Banerjee lamented that she could not meet the next of kin of the deceased earlier owing to a 72-hour ban on entry of political leaders in Cooch Behar, where four people were gunned down by CISF personnel, who fired in "self defence", on April 10.

Appealing to people to remain calm, Banerjee alleged that central policemen shot dead people standing in a queue to vote and demanded "Shah should resign" owing responsibility for the incident "which is dastardly, cold-blooded and unprecedented".

Central Industrial Security Force personnel saved a man's life at the Dabri More Metro station in New Delhi.

The Union Home Ministry has issued an order directing the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) to provide a bulletproof car along with Z category security to Kailash Vijayvargiya after the party’s national president JP Nadda’s convoy was attacked at Diamond Harbour in West Bengal.

The Central Industrial Security Force conducted a multi-agency counter-terrorist contingency mock exercise at the Hyderabad Airport along with team Octopus (Telangana anti terrorist squad).

Around 50 CISF personnel, who were involved in the rescue operation, and their family members have been asked to quarantine themselves, said CISF Special Director General (Airports) M A Ganapathy
