The hacked Twitter account posted a message, criticising the deposed President, Ashraf Ghani. 

In a Facebook post, Ghani said, "The Taliban have triumphed... and are now accountable for their countrymen's honour, property, and self-preservation."
 

The new Taliban statement announcing its entry into Kabul is contradictory to its earlier stand that they would wait for a smooth "transition of power".

Taliban spokesman said that the militants are 'awaiting a peaceful transfer of Kabul city' after they entered the capital and gunshots echoed in Kabul.
 

The statement comes as the Taliban has captured city after city over the last one week in Afghanistan and now are on the gates of Kabul.
 

Addressing the media, the Pakistan prime minister said a political settlement was looking difficult under current conditions. He informed that he tried to persuade the Taliban around a few months back when they came to Islamabad.

The loss of Faizabad was the latest setback for the Ashraf Ghani government. The president flew to Mazar-i-Sharif to rally old warlords to defend the biggest city as Taliban forces closed in.

Condemning the horrific act, Afghanistan's foreign ministry said that the Pakistan government must act to protect the country's diplomatic mission in Pakistan.

The dam, which was a part of new development initiatives unveiled by India last November, will provide clean drinking water to two million citizens of Kabul, will also be used for irrigation, aid in flood protection and management efforts in the area, and also provide electricity to the region.
