Though Jharkhand Academic Council stated that 57% students in Class 10 and 52.36% students in inter-science and 60.09% inter-commerce cleared the exams, the state witnessed the worst results in 2017.

The sources with Education Department revealed that there are 66 educational institutions in the state, 33 schools and 33 intermediate colleges, from where not a single student qualified for higher studies. As many as 148 students attended Class 12 exams in the 33 intermediate colleges while 240 students appeared in Class 10 in the schools.

National Educational Sangh and teachers have raised technical reasons for the poor results.

"Majority students of Class 10 have failed in English exam. The exams were held without considering the provisions of Jharkhand Academic Council," National Education Sangh general secretary Amarnath Jha said.
