Last year there were 40 cosplayers at the Manga Planet Cosplay Walk, but this year there was a good increase. More than 70 cosplayers gathered at the second edition of the Manga Planet Cosplay Walk 2019 in the city, which included Japanese consul-general in Bengaluru Takayuki Kitagawa. The Cosplay Walk which began at St Mark's Hotel came to close near St Mark's Circle.

The cosplay was organised to promote Japanese pop culture in the country and Japanese tourism, in order to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

Among the popular characters were Orochimaru, the main antagonist from Naruto, and, of course, Naruto himself, Shota Aizawa, and Himiko Toga from My Hero Academia, Akali from League of Legends, Trunks from Dragon Ball, Drow Ranger from DOTA video game, Spiderman and all kinds of Samurais.

Artists of the comic said during the Manga Planet Cosplay Walk 2019 in Bengaluru on Sunday that the Japanese Manga comic is expected to be released by the end of the year. According to sources, the comic will be released in Japanese and English first, and in regional languages like Kannada, Tamil and Hindi later.
