Bengaluru: Dacoits resort to petty theft, attack victim for Rs 30
A gang of 6 dacoits chased a 26-year-old bike rental firm employee in Halagevaderahalli near RR Nagar, Bangalore. The gang then stabbed him before robbing him of Rs 30. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Bengaluru: 6 dacoits on bikes chased a 26-year-old man for a kilometre before stabbing him multiple times and robbing him at Halagevaderahalli, near RR Nagar in Bangalore in the wee hours of Wednesday.
The victim was identified as 26-year-old Ajay Kumar S, an inspector with Metro Bikes at Nayandahalli and a resident of Uttarahalli.
At around 1:15 am on Wednesday, Ajay Kumar was returning home when a gang of six people on two bikes tried stopping his bike. They tried to distract him by asking for an address.
Ajay suspected that they were thieves, and drove away quickly. The gang chased him for about a kilometre.
When Ajay reached Jayanna Circle in RR Nagar, he caught sight of an auto rickshaw and stopped to ask him for help. He told the auto driver that the dacoits were trying to chase him.
The six men caught up with Ajay when he stopped to ask for help. They warned the auto driver to leave the place and threatened him at knife-point. One of the men got down from the bike and took away Ajay’s bike keys. They demanded him to give them all his valuables.
Police have said that they snatched away Ajay’s mobile phone and took Rs. 30 in cash. They stabbed him multiple times and fled from the location.
Passersby rushed Ajay, who has severely injured, to a nearby hospital.
The RR Nagar police received a medico-legal notice. They then hurried to the hospital where Ajay was taken to file a complaint.
