Umm Suqeim 1 Beach in Dubai is now open for nighttime swimming

It's not just the Burj Khalifa that is going to attract tourists to Dubai now. Night swimmers too will now enjoy their stay in the city. The Umm Suqeim 1 Beach is now open for night swimming, but not without safety measures. With two smart power poles, 84 lifeguards, red floats, the beach authorities have ramped up the beach for beach and adventure lovers.

The power poles are run by wind and solar energy and have been designed by D Idea Media who have also designed the smart wi-fi stations. These poles emit strong light, enough to illuminate the waters just off the shore.84 lifeguards will always guard the stretch from any mishap and the small red floats will mark the point till which the swimmers can go.

It is to be noted that with the nighttime beach, Dubai has turned out to be the first emirate in UAE to allow nighttime swimming. Meanwhile, Hussain Nasser Lootah, director general of Dubai Municipality said, "We are focusing on ensuring the best safety measures for everyone and that’s why we have appointed many lifeguards."
