UAE relaxes restrictions, allows residency permit holders to return from India & other countries
The exemptions were announced by the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority; otherwise, passenger entry from these six nations is suspended.
FollowAuthorities on Tuesday announced that more United Arab Emirates residents from six countries from where passenger entry is suspended could return to their homes. Among the new categories, travellers who are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus and hold valid UAE residency permits will be allowed from August 5. The passenger should travel at least 14 days after receiving the second dose and have a proof certificate.
The exemptions apply to travellers from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Nigeria and Uganda.

Additionally, vaccinated and unvaccinated travellers from the following categories are allowed entry from August 5:
- Health workers employed in the UAE include doctors, nurses and technicians
- Working in the UAE’s education sector: Universities, colleges, schools and institutes
- Humanitarian cases which hold valid residency
- Employed in federal and local government agencies
They must hold a negative result from a PCR test taken no later than 48 hours from the time of departure. The results must have a QR code.
In addition, a rapid COVID test will be conducted before they board the flight. They must also undergo a PCR test on landing in the UAE.
