In a tragic incident, a teenage boy was found dead in the swimming pool of an under construction villa in Amballoor, Ernakulam. The deceased is identified as Neeraj, a Class X student of St. Ignatius Higher Secondary School in Kanjiramattom.

The 15-year-old went missing on Tuesday. He did not return from school and parents lodged a complaint with the police.

However, locals spotted his body near the swimming pool by the evening. They searched the swimming pool after his clothes were found near the pool.

Neeraj had gone to the spot with two other children on Tuesday noon. The construction site is about one km from the house of Neeraj. The boy slipped and fell in the pool. He became unconscious as his head hit the poolside.

His friends, 11 and 12 years old, called for him but as there was no response, they got scared and ran away. They did not even speak about it to others, the police said.

The officials assume that the head injury leads to his death. On questioning, the friends of Neeraj told police that they have been playing near the pool for past few days. They also said that no one was nearby when the accident happened.
