In an allegation of serious nature, activist Rahul Easwar has said that Hindus slaughter cows on temple premises and put the blame on Muslims as they lack an opportunity to assemble like people from other religions.

"Christians assemble on Sundays at their respective churches while Muslims get together at mosques on Fridays. However, Hindus lack any such opportunity. Hindu extremists are trying to make benefit of this situation by creating friction, and for that, they are slaughtering cows on the premises of temples and blaming Muslims for the act. This is wrong and is against God. It amounts to anti-Hinduism and anti-nationalism," he said, during a discussion on a Malayalam news channel.

The activist also said that the strategy to create stress and thereby lead to riots must be ended. He also claimed that he is a Hindu by faith and does not need anyone's certificate to speak as a Hindu. "However, during Sabarimala pilgrimage, I visit both the mosque of Vavar and the church of Arthungal Veluthachan," Rahul said.

"All we need to do is to have an agenda that Hindus should assemble at temples on a day every week and learn about their religion on like Christians and Muslims. There is no need to question people in the name of a non-existent nationalism. Our concept of nationalism is based on the concept of unity in diversity", he added.
