The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the actress attack case is likely to arrest more persons based on latest leads. It is reported that the mobile phone, which was used by prime accused Pulsar Suni to record the visuals of attack, was with him for three days.
Police have got crucial information from Charlie, who allegedly helped Suni to go into hiding soon after the attack. He has informed police about the attempts made by them to destroy evidence.
The attack took place on February 17 and Suni fled to Coimbatore on February 19. It was Charlie who helped him hide. Suni returned to Kerala after two days, and it is learned that he had the mobile phone with him all these days.
Suni was arrested when he tried to surrender before the court on February 23. However, police are yet to get information on the persons Suni contacted from February 18 to 23. It is suspected that the phone was safely kept somewhere on February 22 or 23.
Suni had at first told police that he threw the phone into backwaters. Later he said that the phone was handed over to advocate Pratheesh Chacko.
Though police grilled the advocate and his junior, both claimed that the phone was destroyed. There were also reports that the memory card, in which the visuals were recorded, was deposited at Kavya Madhavan's boutique.
Despite an extensive search, the investigating team failed to recover the evidence.
