Did you notice this huge variation in petrol price in last three weeks?

  • Petrol price increased by ₹4 in past 20 days
  • Nobody notices the hike as it is taking place at a slow pace
  • There is difference in the fuel price of different companies as well
Petrol price increased by Rs 4 in 20 days

The price hike of petrol and diesel used to create an uproar earlier, but with the new policy, the government has been able to tackle the issue very effectively. No one even noticed the fact that price of petrol increased by ₹4 in past 20 days.

It is a fact that not many notice the massive price hike as it takes place at a slow pace. Earlier, even a hike of ₹1 used to create an uproar across the nation, and now no one noticed that the price has gone up by ₹4.

The current system was introduced on June 16 after reducing the price of petrol by ₹4 and diesel by ₹3. Consumers were happy with the initial cut down on price and thought that slow hike would not have much impact on their fuel expense.

However, what everyone failed to notice is that the price was actually increased at a fast pace than ever in the history. The issue is that only those who visit petrol pumps on a daily basis will understand the difference.

Customers complain that the price difference in the fuel stations of HP, IOC, BP and Reliance varies from ₹30 to ₹50. In Kochi, Hindustan Petroleum charged ₹71.23 for petrol on Sunday while Indian Oil Corporation sold the fuel for 71.50.

No one notices the mild difference in the price on an everyday basis. Though it does not look like a massive increase in price this new method will increase the cost of goods transportation at large.
