Passengers on Bengaluru-bound KSRTC bus robbed at knife-point

Passengers Bengaluru bound KSRTC bus robbed knife point

A gang of four robbed passengers on a Kozhikode-Bengaluru KSRTC bus at Channapatna, 65 kilometres from Bengaluru on Thursday morning. All passengers are safe.

The bike-borne robbers, who were armed with with knives, barged into the bus and stole money, ornaments and other valuables from the passengers, who later lodged a complaint at the Chikkanalloor police station.

The incident happened at around 3 am on Thursday. The bus departed Kozhikode for Bengaluru on Wednesday evening. The driver had stopped the bus at Channapatna to attend nature’s call when the gang attacked them.

The driver later took the bus to the Chikkanalloor police station, where a complaint was lodged. The 45 passengers were then taken to Bengaluru in other buses.

The Channapatna area has been in the news before as well for similar cases of robbery and even murder.
