Renowned filmmaker IV Sasi, who passed away on Tuesday, had planned a character for me, states Manju Warrier. The actress condoled the demise of the director in a Facebook post.
"Another legend of Malayalam cinema has left us. It is the face of IV Sasi that comes to the mind of several persons, including me, on hearing words like 'hitmaker' or 'master craftsman.' He was a director who was even more powerful than movie stars and who owned several records not only in Southern cinema but Indian cinema. I feel proud that three years ago had planned a character for me, but it did not happen. I did not get an opportunity to work with a great director who crafted a different era in cinema. He gifted several good cinemas that will always be remembered. Sasi sir, you will always remain in the mind of all those who love Malayalam cinema. And that cap, you loved so much, will always be known in your name," Manju wrote on her Facebook wall.
