The police team, probing the Kochi actress attack, is set to name actor Dileep as the eight accused in the additional charge sheet for the case.

The special investigation team (SIT) is likely to submit the new charge sheet at the Angamaly court on Tuesday. There are more than 300 witnesses and 450 documents in the case as per the charge sheet.

The additional charge sheet names 11 persons as the accused in the case, of which only Dileep and prime accused Pulsar Suni have been touted as conspirators. The actor was the 11th accused in the original charge sheet.

The probe team had earlier considered naming Dileep as the first or second accused in the case, alleging the actor plotted the crime and had a personal vendetta against the assaulted actress. However, police chiefs decided against it after receiving legal advice that the move could backfire in court during the hearing.

Meanwhile, the SIT plans to oppose Dileep's proposed visit to Dubai in the Kerala High Court. The actor had approached the HC earlier this week, seeking relaxation in his bail conditions.

In his plea, Dileep requested his passport back and sought permission to travel to the UAE to attend the inauguration of an outlet of his restaurant chain Dhe Puttu in Dubai.

Dileep was arrested on July 10 on charges of conspiracy in the actress attack. The actor spent 85 days at the Aluva sub-jail before the court granted him bail on his fifth plea on October 3.
